After going around Marikina City on foot on our DIY mini-city tour, we decided to have late lunch at one of the highly recommended restaurants in Marikina City – Rustic Mornings by Isabelo. I have seen Rustic Mornings by Isabelo from Instagram photos of nice instagram worthy restaurants in Metro Manila. When my mother-in-law knew that we were spending the day at the Shoe Capital of the Philippines, she also recommended Rustic Mornings for us to try.

Rustic Mornings is a family-owned garden restaurant secretly tucked in one of the side streets of Marikina City. It is best known for their indoor and al fresco dining and the mix of vintage and shabby sheek design. You will find tables clustered in the pockets of its garden with random wood, tile & wrought iron home items strewn today for a beautiful pieces.

The restaurant drew inspiration from the restaurant owner’s grandmother, Lola Chit. They started taking food orders for their specialty dishes until they converted the family compound into the one of the popular garden restaurant it is today. It is great for couples and large group of families who appreciates that good food and ambiance goes hand in hand.

The restaurant is best known for their breakfast and opens as early as 8 AM during the regular days. You will find waffles, beef tapa and chrispy tawilis in their menu.

We went there around lunch time and we ordered Beef ribs and Kofta Balls that were so good!
